At the “AS Photo Digital” photo lab in Kharkiv, we turn ordinary t-shirts into items with personality. Printing on clothing isn’t just about applying a design — it’s a way to tell a story, express yourself, or create a memorable gift. Whether it’s a photo from a family celebration, your startup’s logo, or an abstract sketch you doodled on a napkin, we transfer it onto fabric so that colors stay vibrant and details remain sharp even after dozens of washes.

Our primary technology is direct-to-garment (DTG) digital printing. Here’s how it works: a textile printer applies ink directly onto the fabric’s fibers, as if painting on it. This isn’t a sticker or film — the image becomes part of the material. Cotton t-shirts, hoodies, or polos are perfect for this method because the ink soaks in deeply without leaving a stiff layer. You can print anything: from a full-color photo with hundreds of shades to a delicate inscription with fine curls. We use water-based inks — they’re safe, odorless, and don’t fade over time. Even after twenty washes, the print won’t crack or dull.

People often come to us wanting to print a photo on clothing. It could be a travel snapshot — like a sunset over the sea captured on your phone — or a portrait of your cat napping in a funny pose. We take the image and refine it: adjust brightness, remove unwanted shadows, and check sharpness. On light fabrics, colors pop immediately, like on a canvas. For dark t-shirts — burgundy, black, or navy — we add a white underlayer to keep the print vibrant. The fabric should be at least 95% cotton, as synthetics don’t hold ink as well, and we aim for a result that lasts. We offer our own t-shirts — durable, comfortable, in various cuts — but you can bring your own item, provided it’s clean, free of stains, or old designs.

We don’t stop at t-shirts. Customers order hoodies with large back prints, caps with neat logos, and even eco-friendly tote bags for events or gifting. Each material is unique, and we adapt accordingly. For thick sweatshirts, the ink needs longer heat-pressing to stay put. For caps, we create compact designs since large images can wrinkle on curved surfaces. If you want something unusual — like printing your sketch on a baby onesie — we use hypoallergenic inks to ensure it’s safe for the little one.

Besides DTG, we sometimes use other methods. Thermal transfer is great for simple designs, like a white inscription or silhouette on a t-shirt. A special film is cut on a plotter and adhered to the fabric under high heat, resulting in crisp edges and solid color that stands the test of time. There’s also DTF printing, where the design is first printed on a film and then transferred to the fabric. It’s versatile, working even with synthetics and dense materials like denim. We always explain which method suits your idea best to avoid surprises.

Every item goes through several stages. First, we review your design. If it’s a photo or drawing, we check the resolution — ideally 300 dpi or higher to prevent small details from blurring. We may tweak colors or contrast to ensure the fabric result matches your expectations. For complex orders, we create a test print: a small piece of the design to confirm the shades are spot-on. Then comes the main printing. Our printers — professional models like Mimaki or Epson — deliver clarity up to 1440 dpi. After printing, the design is heat-pressed at 160–180°C to lock the ink into the fabric. Finally, we inspect for defects: no blurry spots, missing ink, or uneven lines.

To keep the print lasting, a little care goes a long way. It’s simple: wash the item inside out at 30°C, without bleach or harsh detergents. Use a delicate cycle in the machine. Iron from the back to avoid touching the design. And don’t toss the t-shirt into a high-heat dryer — let it air dry. These tips apply to all our prints, whether a photo on a hoodie or a logo on a cap. Follow them, and the item will look brand-new even after a year.

People order prints for all sorts of reasons. Some make a t-shirt for themselves — maybe with an inside joke only a close friend would get. Others come for business merch: we’ve printed uniforms for a coffee shop, each polo featuring a tiny coffee bean logo. Event orders are common too — like t-shirts for a family anniversary or festival where everyone wears matching designs. Artists also approach us to transfer their artwork onto fabric, like a canvas. Whether you need one item or a whole batch, we handle any volume. For large orders, we have tricks to work fast without the rush that compromises quality.

We strive to get every detail right. We’re not just printing images — we’re creating things you’ll want to wear. Our inks don’t fade in the sun, our equipment ensures colors match your design, and our process is streamlined so urgent orders don’t turn into stress. If you’re in Kharkiv and looking to bring your idea to life, come to “AS Photo Digital.” Tell us what you want, and we’ll make it real — vibrant, durable, and uniquely yours.
